Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

Kangaroo Crossing at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is an unusual place; 27 hectares of eucalypt trees and rainforest species situated in a residential area, with residences bordering some of its fences – An oasis in the busy city of the Gold Coast.
When arriving at the Sanctuary, it is a good idea to board the train to take a trip through its grounds, to gain an appreciation of its size and the locations of the exhibits.
Along the way you will enter Kangaroo Crossing where the train stops. It is a large open area under towering eucalypts, containing large numbers of friendly kangaroos and their smaller wallaby cousins. Here visitors can pat and hand feed the tame and quiet residents.
At Kangaroo Crossing, everyone – small to large children, teens and adults alike, can mingle with the animals, including some emus. You will also see some joeys, in their mother’s pouches or nearby. Kangaroo Crossing is the largest place, and one of the many, in the Sanctuary where people can connect with the wildlife, a wonderful experience to enjoy.
